The web of lies that Mr Jolley had spun was intricate, but it was clear to anyone who examined the evidence that his story didn't add up. The reality was that on a spring day in 2019, Mr McMillan and I had witnessed the couple causing a disturbance and made the decision to bar them from the hotel. McMillan had specifically asked Jolley to get a clear photo of the couple so all staff could identify them, but Jolley had conveniently failed to do so, despite the couple being in full view of multiple cameras. The CCTV footage, which Jolley himself had provided to the police, clearly showed the boy running back and smashing the window with a beer can – a direct contradiction to Jolley's lie.

The truth was simple: the couple had been barred by management, and the subsequent disturbance and damage to property had been caused by the couple, not by any actions of the hotel staff. It was time for Jolley's lies to be exposed, and for the true story to come to light.
